Since most
of the 4th of July festivities were cancelled the actual 4th, they took place
the next day, when the weather was beautiful. A
part of those festivities was a local carnival, with lots of rides and games
for the kids.
They
started out on the cars and were able to all sit together. It was good warm up
for the rides to come.
The next
ride they went on was a dragon roller coaster—definitely the hit ride of the
day. They were a little scared at first (well, Alex and Eva were), but they
were all smiles by the end.
Check out
that smile!

Next, then
went on a carousel and choose the fire engine to sit in.
After
these rides, we decided to play some games.
One was a water gun game and the
big winner was Eva! She choose a purple unicorn as her prize.
Then, we
went fishing for duckies. The big winner was once again Eva, even though they
all ended up choosing the same prize: a trumpet. We had a trio of horn players
the next few days.
We
finished up at the carnival back on the dragon roller coaster—this time, they
all sat together and they, once again, had a blast.
Waving as
they go by.
