After the carnival
we went to, we hit the local kiddie pool. I remember as a lifeguard thinking
this was the most boring post and usually dreaded it. Looking at it through a
mother’s eyes, however, it was amazing: the pool is shallow, shaded and has a
fountain. What could be better?
The kids
had such a great time “swimming” in the pool (basically walking on their hands
and kicking), and we had a great time sitting in the shade.
Afterwards,
we went home and had hamburgers, corn on the cob, potato salad and baked beans.
It was a lovely way to spend a Saturday.
