Rain, Rain, Go Away

Lately, we get a hint of spring, and then the next day is cold and rainy again. But, we have been cooped up too long this winter, so we just bundled up and headed outdoors. 

Alex had so much fun in the morning that we went again in the afternoon.

By the afternoon, however, the hippos and playground were really wet and it was a steady rain; this didn’t stop us from having fun. A bonus was that the rain water made the chalk even brighter against the hippos. 

Of course, he asked me to draw a police car, a train and a fire engine. 

We came home and had some hot chocolate to warm up, along with my updated Levain oatmealcookie knock-off recipe (I think this new recipe is actually better than Levain, which says something).  I will share this new recipe later.
