Arriving
in Bermuda.
|
As most of
you know, we have been hit with a brutal winter in NYC, which made us even more
excited for our family vacation to Bermuda (we wanted to get in one more trip
before Alex turned two and we have to start paying for his airplane ticket).
The week
before our trip, weather was looking good and we were excited to leave behind
the snow and slush. Then, a few days before we were set to fly out, the forecast
turned ugly. Delta ended up cancelling our flight the day before we were
flying, so we had to scramble to find a way out of NY. To Delta’s credit, they
did everything they could to get us out, and we ended up on a late night flight
to Atlanta the day before, so we could take the morning flight to Bermuda from
there. Even though our original flight was a direct, two-hour flight from NY,
we didn’t care about the extra mileage or hours, as we beat the winter storm.
We saw so
many photos of snow and ice from our friends on the East coast as we were
greeted with blue water, blue skies and white sand. We were transported.
Our first
leg to Atlanta—I love NYC, but I was so glad to be leaving her behind for a few
days.

Probably
the highlight of the trip for Alex was the pink buses that took you to and
from the beach and the boat. He loved them. The hotel staff, which was amazing,
even called the bus up one night so Alex could ride around before bed. He was ecstatic.
