Apple Picking at Applewood Orchards

We went to Applewood Orchards recently with friends to pick apples. The kids had such a great time—I choose it due to the proximity to New York City (and the fact that it was one of the few apple farms open so early in the season)—but, it was a great place. We had apple cider donuts, rode a tractor, picked apples, listened and danced to live music, saw a puppet show and got our faces painted.

Enjoying some apple cider donuts—they were served warm.

They were so excited to ride the wagon on the back of the tractor. I took us out to where the “best” apples were and didn’t cost us anything to ride it.

It had rained the night before, so the apples still had dew on them.

The Bergens arrive!!

They had a great time running around the orchard.

Sampling the goods.

Alice and Alex were amazing to watch dancing. They made us laugh so much. They would hold hands, dance and then fall to the ground together. At one point, they even made a break for the stage—I think they learned it from watching their mothers.

The puppet show.

Alice and Alex got matching pumpkins (Alice got a little glitter though—Alex did not want any).

He loved it.

I highly recommend this farm—it is really cute and only about an hour and ten minutes from the city.
