Spring Awakening in Central Park

On Monday, after  picking Alex up from school, I walked home with him in the pouring rain…and it was freezing—so cold that my hands were completely numb by the time I got home (yes, I forgot gloves…because it is April).

Yesterday morning, it was still drizzling on our way to school and work, and then, when I picked Alex up that evening, the sun was shining and we didn’t really even need a coat. Instead of taking the most direct route home (along the park), we decided to stop and smell the newly bloomed flowers—we walked home through the park.

The moon was out, which Alex was so excited about.

Andy ended up joining us for the last leg of our commute. This is the moment when Alex spots Andy—he was so excited that he went full speed. I am amazed he didn’t lose his balance, as this is actually a rather steep hill.

He spotted a mini construction site near the reservoir and made a beeline for the bulldozers. We spent a good chunk of time here, admiring the equipment.

One of my favorite photos of him!

I love this photo of my boys.

Leap frogging and then rock climbing.

Even though I had a really long day at work, I loved that we didn’t rush home—that we were able to spend some moments together enjoying the park’s sleepy wake up from winter.
